What Is Bail?

After a person is arrested, they are booked in the local jail. Next, the judge or magistrate will set the bail amount that must be paid in order for the defendant to be released. The court sets this amount to ensure that the defendant returns for all court dates and hearings in the future. If a person is able to pay the full amount, they can be released by providing funds for the full bail. In most cases, however, it is difficult to pull together that much money to post bail. This is where a bail bondsman and bail bonds Denver come in. A bondsman will assure the court that the full amount will be paid if the defendant skips bail. Bail agencies charge a small percentage of the bail amount as a fee – so you don’t have to come up with as much money to get your loved one released. Bail bonds Denver mean a faster release at a lower cost.

About The

Adams County Bail Bonds Process

When a defendant is arrested or finds out that a warrant has been issued for their arrest, the defendant or someone acting on the defendant’s behalf can contact a bail bondsman located in Adams County to try and secure bail. Almost all misdemeanor crimes and even some felonies allow for the defendant to be released on bail. A judge will set bail and once terms have been negotiated with the bail bondsman, the bail bonding agency can proceed with posting bail. The process of posting bail in this county is similar to bail posting processes in surrounding counties with a few distinct exceptions. The jail requires a $10 fee to be paid on each bail posted. The jail also requires the bail bondsman to make an appointment in order to post bond. The process of posting bail in Adams County generally takes between 4 and 12 hours to complete. Once a defendant has been released on bail it is important that they abide by all rules and stipulations set forth by the court and the bail bonding agency. Generally, a defendant will be required to provide an up-to-date address and phone number and will be required to stay within a certain area until they have made their first court appearance. Terms of the contract negotiated with the bail bonding agency will specify, in detail, the financial arrangements made to pay the set bail amount. Things such as collateral will be discussed in the contract and if collateral is used there will be a clause specifying the consequences of not adhering to the contract which may include seizure of any and all collateral to recoup any monies put up by the bonding agency. The defendant may also be re-arrested for failing to comply with the terms of release. New charges may be added if a defendant fails to comply. After the initial court appearance more specific instructions may be issued and the contract may be modified to include these new instructions. Have more questions? Read our FAQ, and give us a call!

Bail Procedures

The three steps below provide detailed information on how the bail process works.

1

Bail Amount Set by the Court

After an arrest, the court will set a bail amount, which varies based on the charges and other contributing factors. This is done as a way of making sure that the defendant appears at the scheduled court date (or dates) following his or her release from jail.

2

Contact Pente Legal Solutions

After the bail amount is set, the first thing to do is contact Aladdin for free initial bail information. We will put our expertise and experience to work for you immediately. Simply provide us with some basic information like the defendant’s name and the name of the jail or city where they are located.

3

Processing & Finalizing Release

We then work with you or your loved one and the jail to secure release by issuing a bond in the full amount of the bail set by the court. Depending on the circumstances, collateral or a co-signer may be required.

Bail Rates & Payment Flexibility

To offer services in Colorado, a bail service provider charges a premium—a percentage of the total bail amount, typically 10% to 15%

For example: The premium for a bail bond in the amount of $20,000 would be $2,000 plus any additional fees that may be authorized or required by law. The bail service provider must charge the premium rate that it has filed with the Department of Insurance and the premium is not refundable once the defendant has been released. The premium rate charged may vary.
